Ask before setting default apps
When you choose Google Maps to open when you want to open an address, that would be considered a “Default App.” For some reason, it is really hard to find where default apps are stored. For example, I have a Samsung phone and I accidentally chose Bixby (their Siri rip-off) as a default app. I took me hours to figure out how to change that, so now I prefer to have my phone “ask before setting default apps.” This way you can test out the connection before you commit 100%.

How to remap the Bixby button
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced Features.
- Tap Bixby key.
- Select Double press to open Bixby.
- Enable Use single press toggle.
- Tap inside Use single press area.
- Tap Open app.
- Tap on the Settings button (cog icon).
- Select the app you want.
Quick commands
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced Features.
- Tap Bixby key.
- Select Double press to open Bixby.
- Enable Use single press toggle.
- Tap inside Use single press area.
- Tap Run quick command.
- Tap on the Settings button (cog icon). 9a. (If blank) Tag Go to Quick Commands. 9b.
- Select Quick command.
- Tap Plus sign at top right of screen.
- Give title to Quick Command.
- Add command.
- Tap Save.
- On new screen, select quick command.
Organizing your apps
When you swipe down on an android phone, you get an “all apps” screen. This is really helpful but seeing hundreds of apps gets overwhelming. Personally, I have chosen to organize my apps into folders based on the activity that I am trying to solve. For example, if I am hungry, all the apps I have around “food” are organized with the “Food” label.
