It is so much easier to show, rather than tell. Since I help people design websites, I am constantly taking a shot of my screen (or “screenshot”) so that I can show someone an example of something that I like, want to be changed or appears broken.

Take A Screenshot On A Mac

Take a full-screen shot

hold down ⌘ command and shift and press #

This will take a photo of whatever you have up on your screen.

On the desktop, you will see the image your computer will take and it will be called something like “Screen shot 2019-08-07 at 08.51.00 AM.png”

If you want to select what part of the screen to take a photo of, you would:

hold down ⌘ command and shift and press $

Hit PrtScn

Hold down Alt and press PrtScn

Take A Screenshot On An iPhone

Hold down the sleep/wake button then immediately press and release the Volume up button.

You can then go to your Photos app to find your screenshot.

How to take a screenshot on an Android Phone

Hold down the volume down button and press the power button

The screen will flash letting you know it worked. Then go to your Gallery or Photos app to see and share the photo.
