Khichadi (which can be also spelled Khichdi) is an anti-inflammatory Indian dish. It usually is made with rice, quinoa, lentils and sometimes mung beans along side spices like: Coriander, Cumin, Sea Salt, Tumeric, Mustard Seed and Fennel. To round it out, you can add a number of vegatables.

Where Can You Buy Khichadi Outside of Indian?

Ayurvedic Healing out of Santa Cruz, CA has two versions that they sell. The first is Organic Rice (click here) and the second is Organic Quinoa (click here).

How Do You Make Khichadi?

It is really simple!

I have created a step-by-step guide that only takes 5 minutes to prepare Khichadi yourself (and at a lower price) using ingredients that you can buy from Trader Joes’, Sprouts, Mother’s Market or Amazon. It is also less expensive then buying it “prepared.”
